About Marion

Marion Witcher was born in New York and raised in Detroit, Michigan and Columbus, Ohio. Several years after marrying, she learned that her firstborn was challenged with Autism. This news whisked her into a life circumstance that demanded that she accept a “new normal.” In her new normal, she endured a process which had all the elements of a tornado disaster—brokenness, a sense of helplessness, and disappointment.

Today, Marion has moved from pain to power to more purposeful living. As a speaker and writer, she effectively combines humor, information, caring, and understanding to inspire parents, caregivers, and others wanting encouragement. She and her husband are the parents of two adult children.

Mainstream:

Founder, Autism: A Language Worth Knowing and The Making of an Advocate workshops.

Possess 20 years experience in autism life management: This includes coping with autism combined with epilepsy and ortho-issues, behavior and communication challenges, female puberty, post-surgery challenges, tactile sensory issues, and special education advocacy within the public school system.

Provide information about autism from a parental perspective to secondary and Master's Degree program students.

Recipient of Community Advocate of the Year award.

Faith-based:

Marion is licensed for Christian ministry and has a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. She has been a speaker for numerous Women's events and conferences.

Marion and her husband, Vee, are over the special needs ministry at their church. Through the ministry, they provide faith-based support to parents of children with disabilities. She has also encouraged and taught the Bible to those challenged with intellectual disabilities (autism, Down’s syndrome, mental retardation, etc.).

Author, Sowing My Tears, Reaping His Joy. The book describes her journey of coming to terms with her daughter's challenge with autism through faith in God.
